A stomacher is historically a "V" shaped panel of decorative fabric that fills in the front opening of a gown, bodice or blouse; in modernity is its a piece of fabric usually used to raise the neckline of same garments so as to cover more of the chest and/or neck of the individual than the garment does without the panel.
It's quite lovely. All your work is. But could you tell me, "What is a stomacher?"
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I'll get your answer.
This is the ancient Chinese women bra, now some Chinese babies surround the chest and navel with the stomacher.
